Rochester Christian University will offer direct admission to its School of Nursing for qualified high school seniors in fall 2025, which will ensure a spot in the nursing program if prerequisites are earned as required.
This ensures entrance into RCU’s competitive and successful nursing program, which boasts a cumulative 91% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination, which is required for licensing as a registered nurse in the United States and Canada.
“We want to recognize and encourage talented students who have a passion for helping others. This will ease the process for qualified students to enter our School of Nursing,” said Dr. John Collins, dean of the School of Nursing and Health Studies.
The criteria for freshman admission are:
- Minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.4 on a 4.0 scale.
- Successful completion (grade of B- or higher) of one year of biology, chemistry and algebra.
- Enrollment at Rochester Christian University following high school.
Upon direct admission, students must:
- Maintain full-time enrollment at Rochester Christian University.
- Complete all prerequisite courses and be eligible for the nursing major within two years of initial enrollment.
- Pass Rochester Christian University (non-nursing) courses with a C or higher.
- Pass nursing courses with a B- or higher.
Students who do not enter RCU with direct admission to the nursing program must apply for admission to the school by May of the previous academic year. The application includes a minimum GPA of 3.0, a personal goal statement, and an individualized face-to-face interview with nursing faculty.
