OUR APPLICATION PROCESS

Here’s what to expect as you fill out your application online.

Choose a Program (If You Have One in Mind)

If you’ve never been to college before and aren’t sure yet what you want to study, you don’t have to choose a program (or major) now. But if you know what you’re interested in, let us know, too!

Gather Documents

You’ll need to contact your previous school to request your official transcripts (high school or college record). Check the information below to see what other documents you may need.

Submit Your Application

After you’re done filling out the information on the form and uploading the documents, just click “Submit.” Your responses will help us determine how best to help you!

To apply to RCU, please submit the following items: 

  • Undergraduate Application (see above) 
  • High School Transcripts 
  • Transcripts from any college(s) attended

To apply to RCU, please submit the following items: 

  • Undergraduate Application (see above) 
  • Official or unofficial college transcript(s) (from all previous colleges)
  • Please note that we must receive official transcripts before a student registers for classes

To apply to RCU’s online programs, please submit the following items: 

  • Undergraduate Application (see above) 
    • Under “Degree Level” choose “Undergraduate”
    • Under “Application Type” choose “Online”
  • Official college transcript(s) (from all previous colleges)
  • Official High School transcript if you have earned less than 16 college credit hours

Our Early College application is solely for students who are enrolled with our partner school districts. Please work with your current partner high school to apply to our Early College program. 

If you would like to take a course or two at RCU, but are not interested in working toward a degree at this time, here is how to apply (this includes students who wish to audit a course): 

  • Complete the Undergraduate Application (see above) 
  • Under “Degree Level” choose “Non-Degree”
  • Under “Application Type” choose “Guest Student”

If you previously attended RCU and want to return after an absence of 12 or more months: 

  • Please email advising@rochesteru.edu a minimum of 45 days prior to the first day of classes. 
  • A re-enrollment form will be sent to you. 
  • Once the re-enrollment form is submitted, the Center for Advising and Career Services will process the form and contact you. 

If you would like to take courses at RCU while you are in high school, but are not interested in working toward a degree at this time, here is how to apply:  

  • Complete the Undergraduate Application (see above) 
    • Under “Degree Level” choose “Undergraduate”
    • Under “Application Type” choose “Dual Enrollment” 
  • Submit high school transcripts
