Institutional Research
Institutional research involves the creation and maintenance of student and alumni data. This data includes enrollment statistics, alumni statistics, student learning data, and institutional information. The data is used for internal decision-making and planning as well as external reporting to various agencies and audiences. This webpage includes some of the data available for public use. Alumni Satisfaction & First Destination
Graduate Survey
Rochester University administers a survey among all bachelor’s degree graduates beginning six months after each commencement. The survey is based upon guidelines provided by the National Association of Colleges and Employers. The survey assesses primary activity after graduation, relationship of employment to field of study, preparation for graduate work, and student experience at Rochester University.
First Destination Activity
In addition to the graduate survey, Rochester University collects data from follow-up emails, phone calls, employees, LinkedIn, and other sources to obtain a fuller picture of alumni first destination activity. As defined by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, this knowledge rate is used to illustrate the primary first destination activity of graduates. The data below is based upon a 86% knowledge rate among the 2021-22 bachelor’s degree graduates.

Common Data Set
The Common Data Set is a collaborative effort among higher education data providers and publishers to improve the quality and accuracy of information provided to those involved in a student’s transition into higher education. It contains information on student enrollment and persistence, admission, academic offerings, student life, annual expenses, financial aid, faculty and instruction, and degrees conferred.
IPEDS Reports
On an annual basis, every educational institution that participates in federal financial aid programs submits a variety of reports to the U.S. Department of Education. Those IPEDS reports include data on enrollment, program completions, graduation rates, faculty and staff, finances, institutional pricing, and student financial aid. Summaries from these reports are made available to students and parents through the College Navigator website.
Graduation Rates
Graduation rates of undergraduate students are reported to the U.S. Department of Education and used to illustrate the percentage of students who complete a degree at Rochester University.
First-Time Student Graduation Rate
The first-time student graduation rate includes those students entering college for the first time in the fall of the year listed below and is based upon a six-year time period.
Full-Time Transfer Student Graduation Rate
The full-time transfer student graduation rate is based upon students entering the academic year listed below and an eight-year time period.

Retention of students who enrolled at Rochester University as first-time in college, degree-seeking students in the fall and who returned for the subsequent year are illustrated for a series of years.
Traditional Student Retention
Retention of all traditional students who enrolled in the fall at Rochester University and returned for the subsequent year are illustrated for a series of years.
Accelerated Learning Student Retention
Retention of all accelerated learning students who enrolled in the fall at Rochester University and returned for the subsequent year are illustrated for a series of years.
Rochester Christian University Profiles
On an annual basis, RCU responds to a number of governmental and publisher surveys which are used to create college profiles. Those profiles are available online.
Student Profile
Rochester Christian University enrolls a diverse student body for an academic experience rooted in a faith-based Christian environment. The fall 2022 enrollment includes 1,170 students from 25 states and 19 nations.
Attendance Type
In addition to the traditional daytime program on the main campus, Rochester Christian University offers three specialized degree tracks for students. An accelerated learning program features both evening and online degree completion programs. Evening courses are offered on the main campus and at both the Macomb University Center and the Mott University Center. Students with sufficient academic ability can enroll in an early college program with participating schools while still enrolled in high school. Early college students can complete specific courses for college credit or earn an associate degree through this program. A graduate program in missional leadership offers specialized training for both professional and lay ministry. Graduate programs in clinical psychology and sport management will begin in the fall of 2023. The data below is based upon the fall semester of 2022.
