RCU awarded $25,000 grant for mentoring program

Rochester Christian University has received a two-year $25,000 NetVUE Vocation Across the Academy grant to fund its RISE Mentorship Program.

RISE stands for relationship, inspiration, support and engagement. This program builds meaningful relationships between alumni and students. Alumni mentors serve as positive role models while providing valuable guidance, support and encouragement to students as they navigate through the challenges of transitioning from an academic to a professional life.

The NetVUE grant is designed to strengthen the link between liberal arts and career preparation. NetVUE will award an additional $25,000 to match funds raised from third-party sources, and the RU Development team already received pledges that exceed the match goal.

Dr. Remylin Bruder, provost, said, “This project will help students define and achieve their vocational goals and successfully build relationships that will support their transition from campus to the community.”
