Meet Katherine!

Hi! My name is Katherine Folmar and I am an Admissions Recruiter at Rochester Christian University. My role is to guide prospective students through the process of becoming a RU Warrior! I look forward speaking with interested students and families about everything that our institution has to offer.

My own educational background consists of my Bachelor of Arts degree in Mandarin Chinese and French from Calvin University in 2014 and my Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership: Higher Education/Student Affairs from Eastern Michigan University in 2017. As my undergraduate degree suggests, I am an aspiring polyglot and enjoy learning foreign languages (and learning about learning languages!). I also am passionate about helping students develop academically, socially, and spiritually in their pursuit of higher education.  Although new to RU, I find the community to be welcoming, supportive, and engaging; I hope to enact these characteristics as a Recruiter.

In my time outside of RU, I am a group fitness instructor and teach Pilates and Barre classes.  In addition to my fitness experience I have been dancing for over twenty years and continue to take classes. I also frequent local libraries for good reads and drink copious amounts of tea.
