Dear University Community:

Earlier this month, the Board of Trustees officially approved and adopted our new Mission Statement.

“Rochester Christian University is a Christ-centered institution that empowers students to lead lives of personal and professional significance while serving God in a changing world.”

I am deeply grateful for the input and thoughtful feedback from our various constituencies — including students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the Board of Trustees, which helped shape this new statement. In addition, historical institutional documents served as essential references throughout this process.

I hope this new mission provides greater clarity and shared language around our identity and what makes us distinct as a university. In the coming weeks, we will begin working with departments across campus to ensure alignment and move toward fully operationalizing the statement.
